When planning your face painting designs for a summer fair, think about what's trending in the kids world currently, and of course you can never go wrong with classic designs. Here are a few popular face painting ideas for the summer fair that are sure to impress your guests.

Butterfly and Ladybird face painting

Butterflies and ladybirds are iconic symbols of summer, and make for beautiful designs. You can also try adding additional elements to your butterfly face paints to make them more interesting. For example, you could try adding a border around the butterfly wings, or add a single flower to the centre of the butterfly's body. Get creative!

Under the sea face painting ideas

Mermaids, fish and magical under the sea designs have been a popular theme for quite some time, and there are plenty of ways you can go about creating your very own under the sea design.

Choose bright and vibrant colours and add gemstones or glitter to add a little extra sparkle to the design.

For best results, go for bright and vibrant colours again. Just make sure you add these paint colours to the palette, so that they are available to your volunteers. A bit of glitter or sparkle will add some pizazz to your designs.

Superhero face painting ideas

Superheroes are always a popular option. There are tons of different superhero designs to choose from. For example, you can pick a classic Batman design or a Wonder Woman design. For extra bonus points, add paint to the hands if it completes the superhero outfit.

You can also go with something a little more unique and out of the box, such as an Alien or an Iron Man design. Remember that superheroes typically wear darker colours such as black and red. Add some silver and gold accents to your designs for added sparkle.
