Schools and PTAs don't only focus on raising funds for their school community, but sometimes see what they can do to support worthy local or national charities.
It's heart-warming to see these wonderful examples of kids and parents playing a part in generously supporting these deserving causes.
Macmillan Coffee Mornings
This is a popular fundraiser for Macmillan Cancer Support services. St Patricks School in Walton-le-Dale and John Burns Primary pulled out all the stops for a fab foodie fundraiser!
Supporting Emergency Services and Key Workers
Bollin PTA have been generously donating to good causes to support their local hospital, and police and fire stations.
Renovation funds
The Friends of Stanley Primary held a carol service to raise charity funds for renovations.
Children's Charities
How incredible that £4500 was raised by just 10 enterprising students at Castell Alun School, donating to Hope House Kids, a charity supporting families of seriously ill children.
Food banks
Kids at Poynton High School spared a thought for families needing food banks this Christmas, and pooled together to stack up a generous hoard to donate to relevant charities like Trussell Trust, whose aim it is to end hunger and poverty in the UK.
Save the Children with Christmas jumpers
This is another popular charity fundraiser, with kids wearing Christmas jumpers to school in return for a donation to Save the Children.
(Consider arranging Christmas Jumper swaps in advance to avoid a rush on cheap, fast consumables being purchased and discarded unnecessarily.)
Here are the Christmassy kids of Ambler School to show you how it's done!
We love the wonderful ethos of Paragon School in Bath, who brought in extraordinary charity 52 Lives and their School of Kindness to introduce the children to the joy of giving and show them "how kindness changes lives".
Last but not least, we're blown away by the efforts of families at St Michael's Preparatory School in Jersey, who raised £23,000 to split between 3 deserving charities with a Christmas Sale. You can read more about it on the headteacher's blog.
